74th (Yeomanry) Division (Insignia)
The Yeomanry Regiments sent out to the
Middle East spent time in Galliipoli or on the canal defences in
Egypt during their early stages of deployment. They wore their
own insignia until General Allenby created the 74th Divison in
March 1917. The divisional badge was the broken spur within a
diamond and each brigade had its own colour. 229th Bde = Blue,
230th Bde = Red, 231st Bde = Green and the divisional troops
wearing a Black diamond. The divisional badge was worn on the
right arm and the left arm had the Battalion/Unit Badge. The
Wolsey helmet had a Battalion/Unit badge on the Pagri. >>>
